Mr Veerle Decorinck, and Ms. Lieveu Vouhoutte, of Belgium Workers Union (equivalent of COTU) accompanied by Charles of Kenya Engineering Workers Union paid a courtesy corporate visit to Mabati Rolling Mills, Athi River. The visitors were working tour, hosted by Gertrude Obinchu and Salim Bakari and were taken round the production area by Peter Kilonzi. MRM was identified by KEWU arising from its good working relationship with the workers' union.

Mabati Rolling Mills Limited joined other Kenyan private sector companies committed to the 10 principles of UN Global Compact in a one-day training workshop to sharpen their requisite submission of annual reports. The event was hosted in Nairobi and the participants were taken through tools and resources that are crucial in compiling and submitting the reports.
